Lukoil, the biggest private oil company, has reported a jump in quarterly profit thanks to higher oil prices and cost control measures.

Its net profit more than doubled to $2.05bn in the first quarter of 2010 compared with the same period a year ago.


US oil company ConocoPhillips owns a 20% stake in Lukoil.


"The positive dynamics of our net income were mainly due to a sharp increase in hydrocarbon prices in the first quarter of 2010, compared to the respective period of 2009," Lukoil declared in a statement.


Russian state oil giant Rosneft reported a 19% rise in net profit for the first three months of 2010.

Lukoil, la plus grande compagnie pétrolière russe privée, a annoncé un bond de son bénéfice trimestriel grâce au renchérissement du pétrole et des mesures de contrôle des coûts.

Son bénéfice net a plus que doublé pour atteindre 2.05 milliards de dollars au cours du premier trimestre de 2010 par rapport à la même période il ya un an.

L'entreprise pétrolière américaine ConocoPhillips détient une participation de 20% dans Lukoil.

"La dynamique positive de notre bénéfice net est dûe principalement à la large augmentation des prix des hydrocarbures au cours du premier trimestre de 2010, comparé à la même période en 2009, " a déclaré un porte-parole de l’entreprise.

La grande entreprise pétrolière publique Rosneft fait état d'une hausse de 19% de son bénéfice net pour les trois premiers mois de 2010.
