La ‘gay pride’ de Sir Elton John

Vendredi soir, à Moscou, la star britannique Elton John a dénoncé la nouvelle loi russe ‘anti-gay’.

Au cours de son concert, Elton John a apporté son soutien à la communauté homosexuel de Moscou. Il y a quelque temps, une nouvelle loi interdisant la propagande de l’homosexualité auprès des mineurs a été adoptée. Tout comme Lady Gaga et Madonna, il a dénoncé la nouvelle loi lors de sa prestation : «Je suis profondément triste et choqué par la législation actuelle qui vise la communauté LGBT (lesbiennes, gays, bisexuels, transsexuels) ici, en Russie.»

D’après l’agence de presse Interfax et différents messages sur les réseaux sociaux, la pop star aurait dédié son concert au jeune Vladislav Tornovoï, 23 ans,torturé et assassiné dans le Sud-ouest de la Russie à cause de son homosexualité.

Ces nombreuses prises de position n’ont pas été bien accueillies par tous.

Elton John s’est aussi produit à Kazan, ville ou est présente une importante communauté musulmane. Il a fait l’objet de nombreuses critiques, notamment de la part de religieux musulmans. Ces derniers on dit maudire chaque jour Elton John en raison de son homosexualité. De plus, une association conservatrice de parents russes, a écrit une lettre ouverte à Vladimir Poutine en lui demandant d’interdire le concert d’Elton John à Kazan.

Malgré les déclarations des stars, l’homosexualité demeure un tabou en Russie.

Opinion :

Tout d’abord, je pense que la nouvelle loi russe anti-gay n’aurait pas dû être votée. Je n’ai pas du tout le même point de vue que le gouvernement russe sur ce sujet ; les homosexuels doivent avoir les mêmes droits que les autres.

Même si cela n’est pas son rôle, Elton John exerce une grande influence de par sa notoriété, son initiative peut faire changer les choses.

Friday evening in Moscow, British star Elton John denounced the new anti-gay law.

Some time ago, a new law banning the "propaganda of homosexuality" to minors was voted.

During his concert, Elton John expressed his support for the Russian gay community like Lady Gaga and Madonna before him: "I am deeply sad and shocked by the current legislation against LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) here in Russia."

According to Interfax and different messages on social networks, the pop star dedicated his concert to Vladislav Tornovoï, a 23-year-old man, tortured and murdered in the South-West of Russia because of his homosexuality.

But not everybody supported his action.

In addition to his concert, Elton John played in Kazan, a city with a large Muslim community. He was the target of violent criticism, particularly from Muslimclerics who said they wanted to curse Elton John every day because of his homosexuality. Moreover, a conservative association of Russian parents wrote an open letter to Vladimir Putin asking him to ban Elton John’s concert in Kazan.

Despite declarations of stars, homosexuality is still a taboo in Russia.

Opinion:

First of all, I think that this new law is really homophobic and shouldn’t have been voted. I don’t share at all the Russian government point of view on this subject; homosexuals should be considered as normal people.

In addition, I find the Elton John’s initiative good and wise. Even if it isn’t his role, a person with a big influence like him can make things change.

SOCHI : NO SANTA CLAUS THIS YEAR

                   

                    Russia's president Vladimir Putin said that Sochi workers and organizers can forget about their winter this year.

                    

                    Two months before the opening of the Olympic Games in Sochi, an important decision has been taken by Vladimir Putin. He wants the 95,000 people engaged with the program to work hard until the end of the games. But in addition he told them to adjourn their winter holidays till the end of the Paralympics which means the end of March.

                   

                     

                     It is therefore obvious that it will be very hard for the workers to work on this project considering that the weather these days doesn't help. Mr. Putin wants the games to be perfect and to improve Russia's image. He visited the area repeatedly as work was progressing.   

                   

                     

                     More than 50 billion dollars have been spent for next year's games, which makes them the most expensive so far."A lot has been done, but it's still a long way from perfection there is still work to be done." said Vladimir Putin at a meeting. However, this declaration has been rejected by the workers and gave rise to numerous accusations against the project.

My point of view: In this case there are two ways of thinking. If you think about the workers, you can perfectly say that the next three months will be harsh and painful for them with their daily workload and the weather conditions. But if you consider Putin’s point of view, these holidays seem to be necessary to finish the great work and to show the games as a symbol of Russia.

I’d rather side with the workers. I think that those holidays are really important, I mean, it's the end of the year and everyone has the right to stay with their families and celebrate. It's not two or three days of work that will make such a difference.

SOTCHI : LE PERE NOEL NE VIENDRA PAS

                      

                       

                        Vladimir Poutine a déclaré que les travailleurs et organisateurs de Sotchi n'auront pas de vacances de Noël cette année.

                        

                       A deux mois de l'ouverture des Jeux Olympiques de Sotchi, une décision importante a été prise par Vladimir Poutine. Les 95.000 personnes engagées dans le programmetravailleront sans relâche, jusqu'à la fin des Jeux Paralympiques fin mars sans prendre de vacances à Noël.

                     

                       

                       Monsieur Poutine impose une lourde charge de travail aux ouvriers car il veut que le site de Sotchi soit parfait et améliore l'image de la Russie. Il prend ce projet à cœur, il a personnellement visité la zone et ses infrastructures au fur et à mesure que les travauxavançaient.

                    

                       Plus de 50 milliards de dollars ont été investis pour les jeux de Sotchi, ce qui fait d'eux les plus coûteux jusqu'à maintenant. "Beaucoup de travail a été fait, mais c'est encore loin de la perfection, il reste beaucoup de choses à faire." a déclaré Vladimir Poutine, dans un entretien. Peu importe, cette décision a été contestée par les travailleurs et a donné lieu à de nombreuses critiques du projet.

Mon point de vue : Il y a deux façons de voir les choses. Si l'on prend parti pour les travailleurs, on peut parfaitement dire que les trois mois à venir seront très pénibles. L'abondance de travail et la météo rendront le travail encore plus éprouvant qu'il ne l'est déjà. Mais si on prend partipour Poutine, ces vacances semblent nécessaires pour finir le projet à temps. 

Je me placerai plutôt du côté des travailleurs. Je pense que ces vacances-ci sont vraiment importantes, c'est la fin de l'année et tout le monde doit avoir le droit de fêter Noël ou le Nouvel An en famille. Ce ne sont pas deux ou trois jours de travail qui feront une si grande différence dans l'avancement des travaux.

LOUIS VUITTON SENTENCED TO CLEAR OFF

    A huge trunk in the colors of the French luxury brand Louis Vuitton, established right next to the mausoleum where Lenin lies on the Red Square in Moscow, has sparked outrage this week.

    The trunk, a huge pavilion thirty foot high and hundred long, set up to house, from December 2 to January 19, an exhibit, called "Louis Vuitton, the soul of travel", on the travel and possessions of the rich and famous.
Stamped with the famous "LV", logo with the three color bands of the Russian flag, the gigantic suitcase sits enthroned in the middle of the square, classified in the Unesco world heritage blocking the tourists' view of the famed Blessed St. Basil's Cathedral and its famous colored domes ... the world’s leading luxury manufacturer doesn't go unnoticed.

    Erected for the 120th anniversary celebration of the famed GUM Department store, the project has caused outrage in Russia, raising criticism from civil society and the political sphere.
Indeed, even if the benefits were to be donated to model Natalia Vodianova's foundation, Naked Hearts, for disabled children, all consider a pavilion this size on this location has disfigured the square.
Sergei Obukhov, a member of the Communist Party Central Committee also said: "This is a sacred place for the Russian state ... There are symbols that can not be trivialized or denigrated."
"Tens of thousands of people come here to see Red Square, not the pavilion of a company," said Konstantin Mikhailov, coordinator of an NGO that defends the architectural heritage.

    Taking into consideration the outcry and claiming that "the construction had exceeded the permitted dimensions", the GUM has asked to the French leather goods maker to take it off ...In other words Louis Vuitton is clearly sentenced to clear off.

LOUIS VUITTON CONTRAINT DE SE FAIRE LA MALLE

    Une gigantesque malle aux couleurs de la marque de luxe française Louis Vuitton, installée juste à côté du mausolée où repose Lénine sur la Place Rouge à Moscou,  a suscité cette semaine l'indignation dans la capitale.

     La malle, un énorme pavillon de neuf mètres de haut et trente de long, devait abriter, du 2 décembre au 19 janvier, une exposition, baptisée « Louis Vuitton, l'âme du voyage », présentant des malles ayant appartenu à des célébrités.
Estampillée du fameux sigle «LV», et de trois bandeaux aux couleurs du drapeau russe, la valise géante trône au beau milieu de la place, classée au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco cachant ainsi la cathédrale Basile-le-Bienheureux et ses célèbres dômes colorés...
Le numéro un du luxe mondial n’a pas fait dans la discrétion.

    Organisé à l’occasion du 120ème anniversaire de la célèbre galerie marchande, le Goum, ce projet a provoqué un scandale en Russie, s'attirant les critiques de la société civile et de la sphère politique.
En effet, même si les bénéfices devaient être reversés à la fondation caritative du mannequin Natalia Vodianova, Naked Hearts, en faveur des enfants handicapés, tous considèrent qu'un pavillon de cette taille à cet endroit défigure la place.
Sergueï Obukhov, un membre du Comité central du Parti communiste a d'ailleurs déclaré : "C'est un lieu sacré pour l'Etat russe...Il y a des symboles qui ne peuvent être banalisés ou tournés en dérision."
"Des dizaines de milliers de personnes viennent ici pour voir la place Rouge, pas un pavillon commercial", a ajouté Konstantin Mikhaïlov, coordinateur d'une ONG qui défend le patrimoine architectural de Moscou.

    C'est pourquoi, tenant compte du tollé déclenché par Louis Vuitton et prétextant que «la construction avait dépassé les dimensions autorisées», le Goum a donc demandé au maroquinier français de la démonter...Louis Vuitton est bel et bien condamné à se faire la malle.
