Russian President finally recognizes Biden's victory

 On the morning of December 15, Vladimir Putin finally recognized Biden's victory; after the proclamation of the victory of the Democratic candidate for the American presidential election by the Electoral College.

In the aftermath of the US presidential election, Vladimir Putin was silent on Joe Biden's victory, believing that the vote count in different states was not finished, but specifying that his silence had no connotation.

The Russian president criticized the American electoral system a lot. He judged "undemocratic" the fact that the winner in a state collects the votes of all the voters of that state, while the difference in votes compared to his competitor can be tiny...

Putin therefore sent a telegram to Biden saying that he was ready to collaborate and thus expressed his conviction that Russia and the United States, two great world powers, can, despite the disagreements, really contribute to meeting many challenges and resolve the many problems, that the world faces today”, reported the Kremlin press.

Biden in turn has said he will be tough on Russia. Indeed, in 2016, Russia was accused of interference and favoritism in the election of Donald Trump, which Putin has always denied despite the damning conclusions of American investigators.

 

 

La victoire de Joe Biden enfin reconnue

 

Le 15 décembre au matin Vladimir Poutine, le président russe a enfin reconnu la victoire de Joe Biden le nouveau président des États-Unis. Il est l’un des rares chefs d’état à avoir autant attendu avant de se prononcer, bien qu’il ait assuré n’avoir aucune arrière-pensée.

En effet beaucoup se posaient des questions, en 2016 la Russie était accusée d’ingérence dans le système électoral américain et d’avoir favorisé l’élection de Donald Trump.

D’après des enquêteurs américains les conclusions étaient accablantes mais Poutine a toujours démenti ces allégations.

Dans son télégramme adressé au nouveau président, "Vladimir Poutine a souhaité au président élu le succès et exprimé sa conviction que la Russie et les États-Unis (...) peuvent, malgré leurs désaccords, résoudre de nombreux problèmes et défis" dans le monde, a écrit le Kremlin dans un communiqué.

Biden a promis de montrer une grande fermeté envers la Russie.
