D'après une autopsie révélée la semaine dernière, Yevgeny Vakhtin, un patientde Belgorod au sud de la Russie est décédé d'un coup à la carotide porté par son médecin.

Selon les enquêteurs, la possibilité que le chirurgien ait commis cet acte volontairement ne devrait pas être exclue car Zelendinov, le médecin concerné connaissait le danger de frapper le patient dans cette partie sensible, cependant, après avoir battu l'homme de 57 ans, le médecin aurait essayé de l'aider.

Vakhtin a été hospitalisé en décembre de l'année dernière pour hémorragie abdominale. Il était ivre et souffrait d'alcoolisme. Selon l'enquête, il aurait frappé une infirmière, ce qui aurait conduit à la violente réaction du médecin.

Zelendinov est passible de15 ans de prison.

According to an autopsy revealed last week, Yevgeny Vakhtin, a patient in the southern city of Belgorod died from a blow to the carotid artery during an assault by his doctor.

Vakhtin was hospitalized in December last year for abdominal bleeding. He was drunk and suffered from alcoholism. He is reported to have hit a nurse, which led to the assault by the physician, the investigators revealed.

Zelendinov faces up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted.
