Russia has been banned from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics and the 2022 football World Cup in Qatar.
This does not concern all athletes. Those who manage to prove that they have not been implicated in doping cases will be able to participate but under a neutral flag.
“It is obvious that significant doping problems still exist in Russia, I mean our sporting community, this is impossible to deny”, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)’s vice-president Linda Helleland said the ban was "not enough:I wanted sanctions that cannot be watered down," she said. "We owe it to the clean athletes to implement the sanctions as strongly as possible."

La Russie a été bannie des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2022 à Tokyo et de la Coupe du Monde de football du Qatar et cela pour une durée encore indéterminée.
Le premier Ministre Dmitry Medvedev reconnaît le fait que le dopage touche une part importante du sport russe.
Certains dirigeants du Comité International Olympique, réclament plus que le bannissement. En effet la vice-présidente de l’Agence mondiale antidopage (AMA) Linda Helleland estime qu’il faut appliquer vigoureusement ces sanctions.
