It is common knowledge that in Russia, the press isn’t free, with censorship, corruption or repression, it is really a difficult country for the media!
Last week, in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, 400kmeast of Moscow, a Russian journalist named Irina Slavina set herself on fire. The reason that drove her to suicide is the Russian Authorities home searches in her apartment. The day before her death, she claimed that her home had been raided. Of course, the Kremlin rejects all the accusations of home searches. According to the government spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin has no information about the reason for the search.
Immediately, The Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers, an independent Russian organization called on the Minister of the Interior to launch researches to found the culprit but, the Kremlin just responded with: “Unfortunately, we haven’t seen it”.
And this isn’t the first time that a journalist is attack on private property.

Il est bien connu qu’en Russie, la presse n’est pas libre, entre la censure, la corruption ou la répression, c’est vraiment un pays difficile pour les médias.

Bien entendu, le Kremlin rejette toute accusation de perquisition. D’après le porte-parole du Gouvernement, Dmitry Peskov, le Kremlin ne possède aucune information à propos des raisons de cette perquisition.
Immédiatement, le syndicat des journalistes et travailleurs des médias, une organisation russe indépendante, s’est adressée au ministre de l’intérieur afin que des recherches soient engagées pour trouver les responsables de ce suicide. Ce à quoi, le Kremlin a simplement répondu : « Malheureusement, nous ne l’avons pas vu »
Et ce n’est pas la première fois qu’un journaliste est attaqué sur une propriété privée en Russie.
